Strategic Internet consultant, author, speaker
Janine
Warner serves a broad range of clients from Internet
companies to bricks-and-mortar businesses in the
US and abroad. Her expertise in media, technology,
and cross-cultural business have taken her on
consulting assignments from Miami to Mexico, and
speaking engagements from New York to New Delhi.
Janine
is the author of several books about the Internet
including, Managing
Web Projects For Dummies and Dreamweaver
For Dummies, by Hungry
Minds (formerly IDG Books).
A
syndicated newspaper columnist, Janine's business
column, Web Strategies
That Work, appears in print and online, including
in The
Miami Herald. She is also a part-time
faculty member at the University
of Miami, where she teaches for the School
of Communication.
Janine
is a founding board member of the Miami
Internet Alliance and a member of the board
of the South Florida chapter of Women in Technology
International (WITI).
From
1998 to 2000, she worked for The Miami Herald,
first as their Online Managing Editor, and later
as Director of New Media, managing a team of designers,
programmers, journalists, and marketing staff
for The Miami
Herald, El
Nuevo Herald, and Miami.com.
She also served as Director of Latin American
Operations for CNET
Networks, an international technology media
company.
From
1994 to 1998, Janine ran Visiontec Communications,
a Web design business in Northern California that
worked on such diverse projects as the corporate
intranet for Levi Strauss & Co., an extranet
sales site for AirTouch International, and e-commerce
solutions for many small and medium-size businesses.
An
award-winning former reporter, she earned a degree
in journalism and Spanish from the University
of Massachusetts, Amherst, and worked for several
years in Northern California as a reporter and
editor. She speaks fluent Spanish.
